Traveling to Trinidad and Tobago!


 1. How to get to Trinidad and Tobago... I would not need a VISA to travel to Trinidad, but I would definitely need a to obtain a passport before my vacation started. I can go to the US postal service to get my passport. I will also need to go to my bank and exchange my money for Trinidadian dollars before my trip. My flight is with JetBlue airlines on May 12th at 6:00 AM. The roundtrip ticket will cost $282.

2. Where to stay... I would stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites right by the airport. It would cost $118 a night, which would be 803 Trinidadian dollars.

3. Where to go...  I would like to visit the Caroni Swamp Bird Sanctuary. This swamp has a forest full of many different species of birds. I love wildlife and I think this would be a really cool thing to view. Another thing I would like to do is visit Port of Spain. The capital of Trinidad is home to a lot of the historical values of the nation. For example, the "Magnificent Seven" mansion houses that are preserved and the Red House parliament building.

4. What to do... I would love to do some of the things I was talking about earlier with visiting the bird sanctuary, and sightseeing some of the historical buildings in the capital and there is so much more to do. Trinidad and Tobago are home to some of the most beautiful beaches the Caribbean has to offer. I would like to go to "Englishman's bay" the pictures are just stunning. One of my hobbies is photography, so I would love to sit down and capture all of the wildlife and beauty that this scenic area has to offer me. Also when I am all done I can jump in the relaxing water.

5. How much is all of this going to cost... It will cost some money but not as much as you think. The swamp tour would cost some money along with the hotel and the plane ticket. Also we can account for the food and put aside some additional money for emergencies, but essentially that is all I would have to pay for. The sightseeing and beach are free to look at, so no expense there. In total this trip would cost about $1,100 for three days or about 7,500 Trinidadian dollars.

In any country there are many things and events that help define them and where they come from.            Trinidad has a very deep history starting with Christopher Columbus finding and conquering the island naming it Trinidad for the Holy Trinity. Self-Assessment

       It is important as you go through life to stop and think about what you have done and what you are going to do. A big part of learning is self-assessing and reflecting. As we approach the halfway point of the semester I would like to carefully analyze and self assess myself to this point.     For the most part, my blogs up to this point have meet the rubric criteria. I know my blogs could potentially be a little longer, but the content and the purpose is there. There are not really any parts of the writing assignments that confuse me. The only things I have gotten points off for at this point were for failing to provide a picture and providing sources. I look over and review my assignments before submitting most of the time.     I truly do think that I am putting my best efforts into the Top Hat writing assignments and blog post.
